Checklist to Assist in Making Non-Detriment Findings for Appendix II Exports
Having a framework approach would help deal with uncertainty and subjectivity inherent in making risk assessments and non-detriment findings.

The checklist comprises two tables that should be followed for each species in Appendix II that is the subject of export as a result of removal of specimens from the wild. The tables and text for plants and animals have been developed together to ensure that the format and contents are as standardised as possible for both major kingdoms.
However, for some parts it was necessary to develop different text parts, but the tables have a similar underlying logic, so the similarity should reduce possible confusion for those Parties where a single individual may have to deal with both plant and animal issues.
